Tanah Lot Temple

1–2 Hours

About

Tabanan (Bali), Indonesia

Tanah Lot Temple rises dramatically from a rocky outcrop along Bali’s rugged coastline, where the rhythm of crashing waves meets centuries of spiritual tradition. One of the island’s most photographed landmarks, the temple appears to float on the sea during high tide. As the sun sets behind the horizon, the silhouette of Tanah Lot creates a breathtaking moment that captures the mystical beauty and cultural soul of Bali.

Best Time to Visit

April–October (dry season). Clear skies and calmer weather provide the best sunset views and comfortable walking conditions around the temple grounds. Arriving late afternoon allows time to explore before sunset.

Arrive about 90 minutes before sunset. You’ll have time to walk the surrounding cliffs, explore nearby markets, and secure a great viewing spot before the sunset crowds gather.
